In 2016 Alejandro was chosen to participarte in Season 7 of Master Chef hosted by Gordon Ramsey and other renown chefs like Wolfgang Puck, Aaron Sanchez, Christina Tosi and Edward Lee amongst others. His participation in the show was very positive, even though he was initially persuaded to act like a "latin lover" his true colors quickly showed when he revealed throughout his interviews, his immigration story and expressing the struggles of his home town Venezuela. He made it 12th with no previous culinary experience.
Shortly after his participation in Master Chef Alejandro landed a job as a video producer in Buzzfeed's Culinary division "Tasty" the most watched top down food recipe videos on the internet. Here, he developed several "latino" recipes and perfected his culinary production skills.
Merging his culinary experience with his production skills and his storytelling abilities Alejandro became a Host for several shows related to food, travel and community. "The Good Truck" on Amazon Prime, "The Purpose Project" which he hosted with Zoey Deschanel and "My Dad and I" which he also produced, amongst others. Ultimately, his goal is to create and develop food, travel and community shows that invite people to connect.
Alejandro has plenty of experience when it comes to partnerships and branded content, he's partnered with Starbucks, LG, Goya, Sprouts, Farm Fresh, Land O Lakes, Capital one and many other major brands to create and host content related to food and travel. He has also been interviewed in Good Morning America for his culinary trip experiences. He is also considered a "Tastemaker" by Food and Travel production company Tastemade.
As a producer, Alejandro has filmed several food related videos including Michelin Star restaurants like Zits Sum and Jeremy Ford's Stubborn Seed in Miami. He has produced food related videos in Morocco, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Mexico and other countries around the world.
His absolute favorite, Alejandro still enjoys the cooking for his friends and family the most, the more the merrier. He always says the biggest compliment he receives is "you cook like a grandma"
Alejandro does not consider himself a "chef" as he recognizes the struggles of working in a kitchen and all the steps it requires to earn a Chef's title. He does relate to the passion for cooking and sees food as a vessel to connect with people and to nourish a society that is struggling with food now more than ever.
Through food, Alejandro wishes to connect with many people around the world understanding different communities, their traditions, struggles and find ways to tell stories that will ultimately bring us a little closer together.
